PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Raw material choice is where the story of Ayfrost taste and quality begins. Supplied from the most appropriate sources directly, fresh raw materials are the first step of the travel to the taste land. In no time, we load raw materials into appropriate trucks which can be monitored remotely and deliver them to our plant in a matter of hours. We use local raw materials in production and use clean potable water to make ice for transporting sea foods.

As soon as raw materials arrive at our plant, they are sampled for analyses by expert chemists, biologists and food engineers. If test results confirm compliance with national and international standards, we proceed with production process in our plant specially conceived to allow for instant processing.

Products go through pretreatment such as washing, sorting and chopping depending on the product type. Next, we use IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) to freeze products individually in fluidized bed freezers with air flow of -40°C in no longer than 10 minutes. This reduces the product’s central temperature to -18°C, halts its microbiological activities and minimizes chemical and enzymatic activities. This freezing technology and speed allows for preserving the taste and freshness of the food for a long period of time without any need for additives.

After the freezing process, we pay ultimate attention to the integrity of the cold chain and monitor it with traceable techniques. Cold chain is an uninterrupted series of cold storage conditions to preserve the properties of the product in all the stages from production to consumption in the course of its defined shelf-life.

We follow GPP (Good Packaging Practices) standards and use proper packing material for packaging products in spaces which maintain cold chain. We pay utmost attention to the traceability of packing operations in critical control points.

Technology complements our ultimate care for preserving the packed product under most convenient conditions until they reach the consumer. We keep the products at a constant temperature of -20°C in our computerized cold stores which are monitored by the dedicated personnel. We thereby complete another important stage of the cold chain.

Upon the completion of production and packing processes, we retest samples of products before they reach the consumer. Samples are retested on lot basis and, at times, sent to accredited labs and official bodies for cross-checking the accuracy of the tests we conduct. We ensure product quality as confirmed by highly positive results of the cross-checks. When it is time for the products to reach consumers, real owners, we distribute them in refrigerated trucks which maintain cold chain.

We successfully go through routine inspections to get official production permits, international quality certificates and procedures and approval numbers for exporting products to the EU. We follow a strict quality management system required by our ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and BRC A class documents in our practices related to production, hygiene, sanitation, environment and occupational health. We believe that compliance with these quality systems is an attestation of the healthy products we offer to the consumer.
